Many imaging centers are not owned and operated by medical professionals- they’re simply financial investments. We are committed to patient care and have the experience needed to truly take care of you. 

We have spaces reserved Daily for Walk-ins. We also have limited early evening and weekend scheduling.

Diagnostic imaging is generally safe, but protocols vary by procedure. MRIs do not use radiation but require screening for metal implants or pacemakers due to the strong magnets. CT scans and X-rays use low-dose radiation, and the benefits usually far outweigh the risks for diagnostic purposes. Patients who are pregnant or have kidney disease should always inform their technologist before a scan involving radiation or contrast dye.

 

We offer several options for patients who feel anxious in confined spaces. Our technologists are trained to talk you through the process, and in many cases, a physician can prescribe a mild sedative to be taken before you arrive. Does Health Guardian Imaging accept insurance plans?

Yes. We accept most major commercial insurance plans,  we currently do not accept CMS (Medicare, Medicaid) and TRICARE patients. But are working to be able to accept all insurances so we can provide the best care to all of our community. If your insurance denies a prior authorization, we offer affordable self-pay rates that often rival or beat typical insurance copays. Our goal is to ensure that clinical decisions are made by you and your doctor, not by insurance limitations.

We provide transparent, flat-rate pricing (such as our $600 MRI and $400 CT scan). By operating on a physician-designed infrastructure and removing hospital-style facility fees, we ensure that most circumstances wont prevent you from receiving life-saving diagnostic data.

Yes. We proactively work to obtain prior authorizations for our patients. We understand that navigating insurance requirements can be a barrier to care, so our administrative team coordinates directly with your insurance provider and referring physician to secure the necessary approvals before your scan.

Yes. Health Guardian Imaging will  bill out-of-network insurance on your behalf. We are dedicated to maximizing your benefits, whether we are currently in or out of your plan’s network. MRI Questions

How much will an MRI cost me?

At Health Guardian Imaging, a standard MRI costs a transparent flat rate of $600. This all-inclusive price covers both the technical scan and the professional interpretation by a board-certified radiologist. If clinical contrast is required to enhance image detail, an additional fee of $175 per scan applies. We provide these upfront rates to help all our patients make informed decisions about their health. 

We prioritize rapid access and often offer same-day or next-day appointments. Most MRI scans on our advanced equipment take between 30 and 45 minutes, and up to 2 hours, depending on the area being imaged.  We offer one of the fastest patient experiences in Southwest Missouri without compromising clinical accuracy.

Once your scan is complete, your images are immediately transmitted to a board-certified radiologist for interpretation. For diagnostic scans, the finalized report is typically sent to your referring physician within 24–48 hours. If you choose a patient-initiated screening, you will receive a report that must be reviewed during a follow-up appointment with a healthcare professional to discuss next steps.

MRI is a non-invasive procedure that uses magnetic fields rather than ionizing radiation (X-rays). It is safe for most patients, though our technologists perform a rigorous multi-point safety screening before every scan. Because the magnet is powerful, we must verify any metal implants, pacemakers, or specialized medical devices to ensure they are “MRI-conditional” before you enter the suite.

We utilize an Oval Bore Closed MRI. This specialized technology is superior to “Open” or standard circular MRIs because its ergonomic shape allows for closer proximity between the imaging coils and your body, resulting in maximum diagnostic clarity. The Oval Bore design provides significantly more shoulder room, offering a more spacious and comfortable experience than traditional closed units.

These are available to asymptomatic patients who wish to proactively monitor their health. Because we prioritize clinical follow-through, you must have a follow-up appointment with a healthcare professional to review the results of your screening.

We offer some of the fastest access to diagnostic care in Southwest Missouri, frequently providing same-day or next-day CT appointments. Most CT scans are completed in just 5 to 10 minutes, ensuring you spend less time in the clinic and more time getting the answers you need.

Health Guardian Imaging specializes in diagnostic and preventative imaging for the community, but we do not currently provide obstetric (OB) or pregnancy ultrasounds. Our ultrasound services are focused on diagnostic evaluations such as abdominal, vascular, thyroid, and renal imaging.
